At its 2012 Gas Tax Honesty Day event held May 17th, National Communications Director Scott Hennig says the federal government must stop its tax-on-tax. When the federal 5% GST is added to the price of gas, it is not only calculated based on the cost of the gas itself, but also on the hidden provincial and federal taxes.
